Our Cheese
The Pickled Fig try to keep around 50 different cheeses in stock at any one time. If you live locally and able to pop into the shop, tasters are always available, please just ask. As well as the favourites we also love to stock cheese you can't get at the supermarket so you can always expect to see something you haven't tried before when you buy from us.
Our cheese of the month is "Rougette Bavarian Red". If you haven't tried this already we assure you it's a real crowd pleaser.
A soft cheese made from cow's milk. It originates from the Bavaria region in Germany and is known for its creamy texture and distinctive red rind which comes from washing with brine and paprika. Rougette Bavarian Red cheese is a versatile cheese that can be used in a variety of ways. It pairs well with crusty bread, crackers, and fresh fruit, and can also be used in salads, sandwiches, and as a topping for pizzas and pastas. What's not to love?

Hampers & Gifts
Give the gift of fine food with our hampers and gift sets. From wine and chocolate, paella gift sets, cheese gifts or a jam packed hamper - we can work with your budget or make up to your requirements. We have several award winning products in the shop available for any gift or hamper making them the perfect gift for any occasion. All of our hampers and gifts are hand selected and wrapped. Personal or corporate, the service is always the same at The Pickled Fig.
Introducing our Choice Hamper Range where you get to customise your gift by selecting the brands of items to be included. If you've got a particular variety, you can even let us know and if it's in stock we'll pop it in. We still have our preselected hampers though, so don't worry!
Cheese Boards & Events
If you are looking for a cheese board or just a lovely selection of cheese, look no further. We have a some pre-selected options in our store but we also love to talk to our customers, so if you are looking for something in particular, get in touch. We are quickly becoming known for our Cheese & Wine evenings. We are organising one as we type. Why not sign up and we'll keep you up to date.
Takeaway
For local customers, we offer a Takeaway food service of gourmet sandwiches with freshly baked breads, homemade fillings and delicious items from our deli counter. A daily range of homemade sweets, freshly made soups, jacket potatoes (made in an original King Edward oven) and much more.
Takeaway orders require at least two hours notice. We ask that orders for lunchtime be in by 10am if possible.
In addition to our takeaway service, we offer a Made2order service for bigger portions of our homemade produce and cheese boards. Perfect for feeding the family or your guests. Also only available for local customers. Boxes of multiple bakery items are available for Nationwide delivery, though.
Business Catering is also available on a platter or per head basis. Our Catering Manager will be happy to help guide you, contact them via email or the contact form. In the meantime, please browse our current business catering menu.

About Us
The Pickled Fig is a delicatessen and fine food store with a small artisan bakery, building a formidable reputation for its excellent selections of cheeses, charcuterie, freshly baked artisan breads, cakes, pastries, gourmet sandwiches, and the various fine foods on the shelves. Stocking products from as near as Yorkshire to as far away as South America. Cheese selections rarely fall below 50 to choose from and the wines you just wouldn't get in the supermarket.
